The weather is heating up in Pittsburgh, we already turned the AC on!  I'm not complaining just yet lol but I am grateful for all of the sunshine.

I wore this ensemble to work on Sunday.  When the weather is hot all I want to wear is non-fussy pieces and natural makeup all summer long. So with this look I gravitated towards this vintage tunic and wore it with my Madewell skinnies.  My accessories included: My dainty gold necklace which was a recent Mother's Day gift from my hubby,  my go to assorted bangle stack, hoop earrings and a vintage cocktail ring. I opted for a pink/nude tone for my lippie color instead of my signature Chanel red lips.

I was super excited to score this Vintage Neiman Marcus boyfriend blazer at the thrift store recently. I'm so grateful for finds like this and thrifting overall because you get a big bang for your buck if you're willing to comb through it. You just never know what you will come up with and that is truly the joy of it all.

Feeling festive

This weekend was filled with lots of excitement! My big girl Midori performed in her 1st ballet recital and unforunately we were not allowed to take pictures per the dancers union? I was so proud of her and shed some tears as I watch her perform.  I also went on a much needed date with my awesome hubby.  We've been so busy and realized when you play hard you must play hard!  This is what I wore yesterday:

The high waist

I can't express enough how much I adore high waist pants, skirts and shorts ect.!  I think I shared this before but I'll say it again, a high rise is so much more flattering than a low rise.  Plus you don't have to worry about exposing the plumber view on the backside for all the world to see when wearing a high rise lol!  Anyway this is what I'm wearing:

I wanted to share that these days I'm obsessed with high waist/high rise pants, skirts and shorts!  Actually I've always appreciated a higher rise but now I'm in love with it!  I think it's so classic and overall flattering to a woman's figure.  Today is suppose to be a beauitful sunny Pittsburgh day and I plan on enjoying it!  I'm wearing here:
