My hubby made the most awesome blueberry/peach cobbler from scratch, he's quite the baker I must say.  It's not my forte.  I do most of the cooking, it's a great culinary trade off.  We also enjoyed a kid friendly community event at Schenley Park Sunday afternoon with some great friends!

Today is a rainy day here in Pittsburgh oh well. I'll try to not let it put a damper on my day ;-)

I must say I'm happy that I got a lot of mileage out of this DIY denim vest this summer.  It's the prefect crop length so it looks great with maxi skirts and dresses.  I scored this vintage handbag on Ebay.  I added the leather fringe on the side and even created my own strap because the original was not long enough to be worn across the body.  Have you been keeping busy this summer with DIY projects?

The count down begins before school starts back up, two weeks left of official summer vacation.

We enjoyed our weekend that was filled with visits to a neighborhood festival and a family Sunday lunch out on our deck.  I love to set aside Sunday afternoons for family time.  Unfortunately our families don't live close by so when they do come to visit it's a treat.

I find joy in wearing things in unconventional ways, for example this top is simply a vintage apron that I pinned in the middle with a vintage brooch to wear as a top.  It has all of the details I love such as: it simply being vintage, crochet cotton fabric and it has great drapability qualities so it was just begging me to wear it as a top <3>

I go through times when I feel like I have to think outside the box in my wardrobe and how I style items but that's just me.  Being different but yet classic is my signature.
