Good Eats
Almost two years ago I discovered that I have a condition that doesn't allow me to digest/process sugars properly. As I share my experience with you and mention sugar I'm not just talking about sweets. I'm talking about whatever you consume that turns into sugar.
After being discouraged about my condition and flare-ups for sometime I decided to take action. I was very strict initially with all the eliminations but finely figured out what works for me. I still crave sugar and if I deviate from my regimen I suffer the consequences!
I'm sharing all this because this time of year most folks make New Year's resolutions to loose weight etc but find it hard to stay with it. For me I got to a breaking point and decided instead of being so discouraged to take action. It was empowering to realize that my decision that turned into action helped me improve my health.
But I'm at another crossroads and realizing how severe my condition really is and need to give up sugar all together. I'm not mentally there yet but I think I will be. Above is a meal I normally make for myself to keep myself on track. It consist of:
Cauliflower, red pepper, onion, garlic, celery, bokchoy and Quinoa. I usually season it with curry powder, turmeric, onion, olive oil, garlic, pepper and Bragg's Liquid Aminos (soy sauce alternative).
I really do believe in this way of eating and have reap the benefits when I stick with it.
