My recent findings

I'm a proud vintage collector and lover of all things old!  I think like most folks that are fascinated with old items there is something that pulls you in and brings comfort.  My story is this:  I grew up watching old classic movies with my siblings & dad, my mom is a lover of vintage goodness and I realized that things are just not made with the same quality and detail anymore so that makes me appreciate vintage items that much more.

I really appreciate the authenticity of vintage/antique items.  For me that means the nicks, beauty marks, the rust and all the imperfections that come with finding a one of a kind vintage treasure.  Now a days estate sales, thrifting and yard sales have been accepted more and more so that translates to less treasures to be found and not at a good prices ;-(  Oh well I still manage to luck out and I'm grateful when I find those beauties.

Wow we've been experiencing some amazing weather lately here in Pittsburgh!  I enjoyed the weekend with my girls, we ran errands, went thrifting and ate some ice cream.  I enjoyed Sunday afternoon out in about by myself and it was refreshing <3  This is what I wore yesterday:

I must say weeds look cool when they fit in aesthetically but not so nice when your yard looks unkept!  I went to a Mother's Day celebration at my oldest daughter's school yesterday and it was encouraging to hear a poem she had written for me <3

DIY vintage scarf turban + Vintage maxi dress + Miu Miu platform wedges

All though it rained most of the day yesterday it was still a great weekend!  I got to go to an estate sale with my oldest daughter and we scored some vintage goodies.  I also enjoyed yummy french pastries and Sunday brunch.  What more can a gal/mama ask for!

I decided to create this turban by using a vintage mop buckle in the center of the scarf, which creates a  ruching effect that I love.  Unfortunately you can't really see that detail from these photos. It is just simply tied in the back to secure it to my head and surprisingly enough it stayed on all day without me having to adjust it at all ;-)

Mommy & Me

Happy Mother's Day too all the mamas <3  I wanted to share some special photos of my girls, my mommy and my mother-in-law.  The vintage photo is of my mom, her sister, her mom, and brothers.  I asked my aunt recently about where she was going because she had on that fancy dress in the photo and she replied " No where" , gotta love it!!!!!  I hope everyone has an exceptional weekend celebrating their mamas <3

Gap tank + Denim waist coat + Vintage skirt

The skirt I'm wearing is actually a midi length but I decided to twist the sides and tuck them in the waist band.  I prefer maxi to the floor, to the knee length and or above the knee length skirts.  I'm not a big fan of midi skirts so I decided to create this look by twisting both sides and tucking them into the waist band and surprisingly enough they stayed.
