Straw Floppy hat + Free People crop sweater + Wide leg khakis

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  We had winter like temps in the pass few days but this week is looking somewhat promising with warmer temps.  I'm off to be with family until tomorrow for my sister-in-law's funeral.  It's been hard processing everything as she was only 34yrs old.  It definitely makes you think about how temporary life really is and how we really need to love each other to the full! Thanx for listening.

This is what I wore yesterday:
Straw Floppy hat
Free People crop open knit sweater
Wide leg khaki pants - Ambiance 2nd hand boutique
Miu Miu platform sandals
Vintage necklace - Thrifty score
GAP - belt

Boho style in Barefoot sandals

I hope everyone is well!  As for me in the past 10 days it's been ups and downs.  My birthday, my daughter's birthday, my wedding anniversary and my sister-in-laws death.  I'm not good at expressing these things in a public form but I did want to share about what's been going on.

I've also been keeping busy making these lovely barefoot sandals and or yoga shoes for this spring/summer season. They are available at Lagelle's Etsy shop.  All my best <3

H&M linen boyfriend blazer + 70s cotton button down + My Lovely jeans

We've been having some glorious weather in Pittsburgh lately <3  I hope everyone in enjoyed their Easter holiday.  We enjoyed an intimate family dinner at home and attended church service in the morning.

I'm not sure if you have a particular era of fashion you gravitate towards but my go to era is the 70s for sure!  I love the high waist, the hippie/boho styles, platforms, the jewelry and well the everything it seems like lol.  This is my take on the 70s:

Style Profile // Shades of Monet

This is the lovely Marissa of Shades of Monet blog.  I first came across her photo stream on Flickr and quickly loved her personal style!  She is such a sweet heart with her encouraging comments and I just realized she lives in PA too, hopefully we can schedule a meet-up in the near future <3  Enjoy reading her interview friends!

Marisa Noelle - Drums, Pennsylvania

1. How do you describe your personal style?
Vintage and girly with plenty of color and a nice helping of whimsy on the side.

2. Where do you find/pull inspiration from?
I pull inspiration from everything around me - from walking through a fabric store seeing different textiles and patterns together to whatever pops up on my Pinterest page to watching an old movie.   The possibilities are endless.

3. Name one fashion accessory you can't live without?
Definitely hair accessories!  I'm such a sucker for cute hats, floral crowns, and big bows.  My mom used to make bows and crowns for a local children's boutique when I was little, so she always had me decked out with some accessory on my head.  I guess the habit just kind of stuck.

4. I never break this fashion rule........
Rules were meant to be broken I do believe!  Though I don't think you'll catch me walking out of the house in daisy dukes with high heels anytime soon:)

5. Your next must have purchase?
Right now I am totally eating up the whole pastel craze going on at the moment.   I've been hunting thrift stores left and right for the perfect pastel boyfriend blazer....so that would be my next must have purchase.

6. Most underrated item in women's wear?
Legwear most definitely.  Whether it be cute little anklets in the summer or patterned tights in the winter, interesting and perhaps even quirky legwear always takes an ok outfit and makes it something fun and inspiring.

7. For all the fashionistas, provide one piece of invaluable fashion advice.
Experiment with different' color palettes - even ones you would never think go together.  Just by mixing unexpected colors from pieces in your closet  (things you thought may not work), you will be able to double even triple your wardrobe and be pleasantly surprised with the outfits you come up with.

DIY vintage plaid cut-off top + Radcliffe London high waist denim + L'Autre Chose platforms

I'm on the up swing from having the stomach flu. My hubby was away this weekend and I was left to care for our two girlies by my sickly lonesome ;-(  I managed with some help from a good friend, thank God for those!  I got out mid day yesterday and made it to the Sephora to try on some makeup I've been wanting to sample.  I also ventured to one of my favorite antique malls in Pittsburgh and scored three vintage bangles for just $10 (for all three).  I hurried when I got there because I only had 15mins to look. Btw I've been having fun lately with lots of DIY reconstructing pieces that are too big for me and then adding some fun detailing to it. This particular cut-off plaid top I'm wearing was long sleeve and and x-large.  Anyway this is what I wore yesterday.

Free People floppy hat
DIY vintage muscle cut-off shirt - Estate sale
Radcliffe high waist denim - Ebay score
Vintage necklace - Estate sale
Vintage bracelets - Various venues
Leather cuff - Etsy
