Incorporate vintage into your wardrobe

There was a time wear I wore outfits that consist of all vintage items and there is nothing wrong with that but I've come to realize that isn't really my personal style.  I love vintage period but I think when a special piece is incorporated into an ensemble it could really make a statement!  This is what I wore yesterday.

It's been raining a whole lot in Pittsburgh and that is one of the reason why I haven't felt inspired to take new photos ;-(  Yesterday was not too bad though.  I thought wearing red tights with this classic dress might spice it up a little but I'm not sure if I'll do it again though?  This is what I wore:
